Howdy i'v been a long time lurker on the forums. I have a remington AAC-SD with the Brakeout flash hider, that sits in a AI AX Chassis. Scope is Nightforce 3.5-15x50, rings Bobro quick detach mount, base is Leupold Mark 4 20 MOA. Everything else on the rifle is stock ( Barrel, trigger, action) the question is what should I upgrade next? i've been thinking about chopping the barrel down to 16.5or getting a new barrel for it. Had a ocpule of questions:

Which Barrel and what length? I dont know jack shit about contours and which ones would fit in my chassis. I want to use my gun for a LE sniper school and maybe some hunting.
Trigger: I want to get rid of the X-Mark pro trigger, what are some good recommendations? I've looked at Timney i just dont know if it would fit without having a gunsmith modify the chassis. ( i want to preserve resell value)

Bolt fluting and Ceracote - I know a remington action is what it is but will fluting or ceracoting make the bolt smoother?
Feel free to comment.

Spend the money on getting the action trued and then you can decide on what barrel you want to drop in it be it 5R Bartlein or Krieger (thats a Chevy/Ford discussion). I say go no shorter than 18" though if you plan on using it for work.Definitely get it threaded. A 2lb timney trigger is a good choice and should drop in no prob as far as I know. Fluting and cerakote is all cosmetic IMO ( you can read the Pro/Con flutting disscussions and decide for yourself) , Krylon is what I prefer for working guns. If you want a gun that looks pretty when you take it out then cerakote/duracoat is fine. I prefer to do cerakote/duracoat myself though, paying someone for that just doesn't make sense to me when an average person can spray either.

can't remember where i heard this but truing the action with a factory barrel is a waste? thats what i've heard/been told.

yeah I just got my rem 700 action rebarreled by a local smith he makes the barrels himself. I saw his machines and they are amazing!! I mean he has a lathe that is the size of a truck, if that isn't big then idk what will amaze you. He did an amazing job since this is my first rebarrel and havent shot it yet but will this weekend. Its a rem 700 s/a in 260 rem, 28in bbl with 1:8 twist, light palma contour, and it sits in a hs precision varmint stock thats grey with black web. I wish I could post pictures but the thing is a beauty for my first build. Currently borrowing a burris full field 2 until I can get a vortex.

LOL... that was quality!

Anyway, I think the opposite is true. I think getting a new barrel without getting your action trued is a much bigger waste.

You just slammed a 14 year old boy for being excited about his newly built rifle. Thump your chest and bask in glowing rays of your superiority........Fucktard.

Perhaps you missed his post on 5-6-13 where he stated he needed one more post to sell gear on the hide and everyone called him out on it so he deleted it. pay attention "Fucktard"
do you need 100 posts to sell things?

Since you want to be trivial.....
You are referencing a post made on 5-6-13.....which is today. However, you were a cock-smoking ass hat to a 14 year old boy on 5-5-13, which was yesterday. Don't send me a spinless soft cock neutral PM about being sensitive and then come on here and post your shit ridden drivel trying to be a hard ass.

Edit: Best wishes and pleasant tomorrows. (Sensitive enough for you?)

I'm trying to hold in the laughter because it's wrong, but I can't. Well played.

Edit so I'm not crapping on your thread too, Cerakote will not smooth up a Remington bolt. my brother's binds more after the Cerakote unless you keep it oily like a piece of fried chicken.
