I finally found the scope I would like. It has an awesome moa based reticle (their xlr reticle) there is one major problem with the scope. The elevation turrets are in 1/2moa adjustments, which I'm concerned about. I emailed them and asked if there is a way for them to "customize" the scope and get me 1/4moa adjustments on it. They haven't responded yet. So I come to you with the same question.

Being a noob, I'm not sure if it's possible, but is there anyway this can happen, or am I just being an idiot and wishfully thinking?

The scope will be for a 260 Rem and shooting will be done at 12x12 steel plates out to 1300yds. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Here is the thing, if you plan on hitting steel and maybe hunting at various ranges the 1/2 moa will get you there very quickly. Sure you may be 1/4" high or low at 100, but if you are not shooting for x ring POI accuracy the high speed turret will save headaches. You are less likely to get lost in turns. I could dial out to 800 in one turn with a 308, you will prob dial out further with the 260. As to the other question, I do not think vortex does custom turrets.

You're over thinking this for your intended application. :) BR or F-class you would want 1/4 MOA clicks. Banging steel with the XLR reticule, 1/2 MOA clicks are good enough. I have this scope mounted on my Savage 12 LRP in .260Rem and it is nirvana to shoot. Pushing a 140gr @2775fps with a 300yd zero works RALLY well with the XLR reticule (+4 = 100yds, +2 = 200yds, 0 = 300yds, -3 = 400yds, -4 = 450yds, -6 = 500yds). You're good out to 1k without twisting a knob. BUY THE SCOPE!! :D I'm waiting on Vortex to get extra XLR reticules so I can get my EBR2 PST reticule replaced.

BTW I was born and raised in Butler County and still have a membership at Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club for when I come North to visit Family. Won't be up until Labor day week this year. You should venture over and visit Tom Sarver at Thunder Valley sometime. Great guy and awesome place to shoot!!

Thank you very much bunsen, you have put me at ease on this issue. And I have been out to tvp with a friend who shots the intimidators there. Awesome place, although I wish there was more places close to home to shoot.

Glad to help. You will enjoy that scope a lot!

Stretching out beyond 600 in your location is a challenge. Cannosburg Sportsman club has a 500-600 yd range. My Family has property along the Butler-Armstrong county line where I could get to 700yds. There was supposed to be a new LR facility opening somewhere in Western PA. I'll PM you the info if I can find it.

i have the same scope and have not found a down side to the 1/2 moa turrets yet. Mine is on my creedmoor so it should fit the .260 nicely

I received an email from vortex today. The answer is YES! They will swap the turrets to 1/4moa for $75. How awesome is that!?
