In the late '80s I saw a radio & computer controlled rifle that the Israeli's were using (IIRC).

It had 16+ rifles that each had a radio controlled trigger that was controlled from a central command console.

Each target would have multiple shooters assigned. Each shooter would depress his trigger whenever he had the target in sight, but the gun would not fire. The rifle would send a signal to the console that the target was in sight.

The command console could be programmed to fire automatically whenever X number of targets had Y number of shooters with a clean shot. At that point the console would send a signal and all the rifles would fire at once (without the shooter needing to do anything different).

Does anyone know the system?

I've seen systems that are in use today that have video, GPS, etc.

What I am talking about is a radio-only system that used coordinated fire via a interrupted trigger on a bolt action rifle using whatever optics the rifle normally had. Up to 16 rifles could be used vs 4 targets (a 4x4 setup). It was late 80's as that is when I read the article while serving in West Germany.
