Anyone try these things yet? Looks like a good low cost alternative to a magwell. At 28 bucks from Midway, I feel like I should give them a shot, plus being aluminum, they should be fairly durable. Any thoughts or alternatives would be apprecatied. I will be putting these on my 1911 I am putting together, pretty much everything on the gun has been traded for except the frame, and I will be buying all the pins, springs, and disconnector, and sear shortly, so this is a budget build, that I dont wanna sink alot of money into just yet.

Thanks

Mark

I have not seen or used a set of these yet, but the hogue magwell grips seem to work well. The same principle, for $30 I would not hesitate to try them if you think you would like them.

Just remember you get what you pay for, buy once, cry once.

I like S&A magwells with aggressively textured grips.

I like the S&A magwells also. I'm gonna need to have the tangs rewelded to get the grip safety to look right (it was modded beforI got it). So I figured I would play with it till funds allowed for a full house tune up by Carniak Custom. At that time I will have better magwell put on, and the frame welded up and so on. I figured this would be a decent alternative for right now.
