Movie Theater Star Trek Into Darkness

Saw it last night in 3D. Loved the movie. The cast is pretty much perfect. If you saw and liked the first edition of the re-boot, you will like this one. No need to rewatch the last one, but it's a good movie too. Much like the last movie, the action starts in the first 30 seconds. Any lull in the movie is no more than 70 seconds. I found the 3D to be quite pleasing and I love the take on what lightspeed or faster should look like. The trailers have done the movie justice.

I'm not a trekkie, but the plot does harken back to the series I believe. I highly recommend seeing at the theater. It's classic JJ Abrams action.

^^^^ I agree with the above. Saw it in 3d last night. Awesome movie. They did a good job. I'm no trekkie, so if they 'screwed' anything up, i could care less or didn't catch it. The 3d was there but none of it was just so blatant as to be annoying and over done.

The whole movie was done well. Highly recommend it.

An outstanding movie. The 2 hours flew by. Great dialogue, special effects and story line. Two thumbs up!

Good movie for sure. Don't want to post a spoiler but the actor who played the bad guy was outstanding, they should have given him more dialogue/exposure IMO.

Just came from it at the Imax 3D. Enjoyable. Not a great stand alone movie, but a good rehashing of the story line. I think if I had to pick one word to sum up this movie it would be ;honor'. With the exception of the blonde, my favorite was Mr. Sulu. 3.5 bthp

I liked it, but the story needed more John Harrison(Kahn) and less of how he got himself unfrozen.

Closet trekkie here, wife and I absolutely LOVED IT. A few predictable spots but a lot of unexpected turns as well and best... the preview didn't give much if anything away. My concern after seeing a few different previews was this appeared to be a ground based star trek... that impression was wrong.

Yep this one is worth seeing it on the big screen. I liked all the ties to the original If you know your Trek you will enjoy this.

I totally second the notion of, "If you know your Trek you will enjoy this". The devoted Trekkies will pick up on everything from Scotty's resignation/firing and the reverse dialogs. to the introduction of the Dreadnought class of Federation warships. I also applaud the writers in how they injected Kahn into the story. Best movie of the summer so far for me.

I'm a devoted Trekkie and I liked it although I'm still a little bit sore about how it is an 'alternate reality' sort of thing. The movie is very well-made though and I did like the Dreadnought class.

It certainly wasn't as good as the first but an OK watch. I think it felt rushed and there was ZERO character development which is something Star Trek does very well. The plot was very shallow too and relied on action to fill the void. I would have liked to see more detail but I'm a hard core old school Trekkie. Overall it was lacking but still better than 99% of the movies coming out lately.

Definitely one of the worst movies of the summer...and I'm not even a trekkie (but I really like "Wrath of Khan")
