Hello guys,
I was curious if any of you were aware of a downloadable ballistics calculator that does not need an internet connection to function, i downloaded one on my smartphone, but it seems to be botched. Thank you gents!

Another vote for Ballistic. I find it a lot easier to use and I like the wind conditions setup better than shooter. Also I like the database of factory loads that it has where Shooter doesn't offer that. Also changing MV in Shooter is a lot more cumbersome than with Ballistic.

I use I snipe and it does pretty good. Ballistic is a little more in depth it seems, Isnipe is a little quicker for me. I like both.

I also use iSnipe and believe it to be the best app out there. The ballistics are a lot more detailed than most, it is extremely easy to use, and has consistently performed quite well. I think it is well worth the money.

I have found shooter to be with in .5 moa of my kestrel Horus out to almost 1200 yards with my .308. I use the Berger listed bc's with both. I was a bit surprised as the Horus uses the G1 and shooter the G7

iSnipe user here...it works well. Just wish they would update it for the iPhone 5 resolution. Last app update was May 2012 I think.

I'd be interested in seeing the results of a head-to-head comparison of all the various ballistic software out there in terms of consistency. If you enter the same data to each program, you should get the same output data. Be interesting to see if that actually happens...then it just becomes shooter preference for the UI and platform.

I'm using a Trimble Recon with Horus ATrag MX and Patagonia Cold Bore. I also have a Kestrel with Horus in it. Haven't wrung out the programs yet to see which I like more.

Still trying to find an interface cable for my Vector 21's for less than $400. And sadly my Recon doesn't have bluetooth. I'm getting Trimble GPS CF card for it and may pick up a Bluetooth card as well, if I can hook it up to the Kestrel.

I prefer the Recon because it's ruggedized. iPhones and Droids are not what I'd call field-rated electronics, although I do have Istrelock on my iPhone just in case.

Actually I would not expect every ballistic program to give me the exact same answer. As each uses a different algorithm to calculate.

The true test is which one works for YOUR load, in all conditions.
