I am in the market for a new scope to replace my Sightron S3 which is SFP on my Remmington 700 in 308. I want a FFP scope and I am currently looking at Vortex Razor HD, Nightforce F1, and a few from Leupold. Before I ask a bunch of questions I wanted to do my part and read some various reviews on these and/or others. Unfortunately, I can not get the search engine to turn up any searches of Vortex products. Can anyone at least tell me how to search this site again, been having problems with it ever since they redid it.

Vortex Razor HD best bang for your buck, imo. You can usually find one in the Optics for Sale section for much less than retail. I've gotten both of mine in the $1700 - $1800 range with rings included. I saw some better deals than that not too long ago.

Try putting " " around your search requests.

tried the " " around search request, but still no luck. Not sure why the had to update the site, can barely use it now without a way to search.

The best advice I can give you is call around (Sport Optics, Euro Optic, Mile High Shooting, Liberty Optics, Camera Land, CS Tactical, Tractus, etc.) and tell them what you want and ask for the Snipershide discount. You can pick up used or demo stuff at great prices.

I wasn't planning on getting a Steiner 5-25x56 but at the price I was quoted, I am getting more scope than I had originally thought was possible.

I have a Bushnell HDMR with ffp 34 mm tube awsome scope for about 1400.00

You can actually find the Bushy DMR for far less than that in the For Sale section here. IIRC, one just sold (used) for about $1000 including Seekins rings.

I did this exact thing, had sightron sIII, wanted to give ffp a try, I went with the new Bushnell xrs. 5-20 power range was a no thanks from me on the razor. I'd be seriously surprised if the 5-20 power on the razor would surpass the image in the Bushnell from 5-20.

The Bushnell loses light above 25'ish, you notice it in the translation of what you see, however, it isn't affecting resolution for me. So does it really matter, I suppose, will it actually affect results, I doubt it, seriously doubt it.

I know you didn't mention this one but I just got a Premier 3-15 which is what the F1 is and the glass is awesome and the turrets are the largest turrets I have ever seen. If you look on the optics sale section you can usually find them for around 400 or so more than an F1. I was thinking about an F1 and asked on here and every one suggested the Premier and I'm very glad I went with it over the F1.

The NF F1 are are great scope I highly recommend them. The Vortex HD like are very well made also and will do the job they have a little more power and have great RET options, they are a little dark above 18x. The Bushnell is another great scope and offers a lot.

We stock all of them and more if we can be of help fee free to let me know.

If not F1 then I recommend the DMR-G2 or XRS G2. I like the 5-20 super sniper as well, but all in all, Nightforce F1 is my favorite.

Good luck

I have two Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21x50 with the H58 reticles. They are on my bolt and semiauto 308s. I have dialed and used the reticle for shooting steel out to 700 plus on many occasions. They are a very solid scope 34MM tube with great glass. I know some people have had CA issues but both of mine are perfect and very clear even at 21 power. Although I rarely go past 12-15 power. I would at least check them out. I saved quite a bit of money compared to Nightforce and Vortex and have never felt my scopes weren't able to do what was needed.

i've probably had a doz or so nf scopes both nxs and br every power but just about a month ago i traded for a 5x25x56 premier and the glass is unparalleled controls are great and tracking is spot on not a single bitch about night force but i love my new premier p.s. still have three nfs no reason to change unless you need first focal premier is on comp gun nxs on hunting guns nf/nxs is proven bullet proof

Steiner 4-16x50 is the best bang for the buck right now IMHO. $2,300 MAP including free $500 military binos before the middle of the month. Perfect scope for the 308 family of cartridges. This is the third year I have been shooting one and haven't wished for more.

The vortex razor is a really nice scope and a little more power than the F1 but I can't say anything wrong about the F1. It just works 100%

For the money I really liked my SS 5-20 no complaints, but I really love my Steiner. If you can find one in your price range I would highly recommend It. Best of luck choosing new glass, it's tough with the cost involved and the wealth of choices.

I dig this USO SN3 3.2-17 TPAL. Built like a tank and works like a clock.

There are good deals to be had on here in the for sale section too. On all kinds.
