I have a few of the 10-50x60's on various rifles. As mentioned above, I have them in both high and extra high Burris Signature Zee rings (base & barrel diameter dependent). At 8am before the heat/mirage shows up, a 600 or 1000 yard target is a beautiful sight. If my relay is later in the day, I'm usually at 30-35x (sometimes 40x, can't do that with an 8-32x). While I would pick the 10-50x everytime, probably 75% of the time, I wouldn't feel all that bad with an 8-32x56.
Optically, I placed one right next to a Nightforce 12-42x NXS I had and couldn't tell a discernible difference when set at equal powers (any difference was likely in my head, I sold the NF & bought 2 more Sightrons). I don't get to go shooting nearly as often as I'd like, so all of my Sightrons still have a somewhat stiff side focus. I'm hoping they will loosen up with some use. Mine are all first gen. by the way, don't know if they've gotten any smoother in the last couple years. Elevation and windage "clicks" are positive and tracking is right on. They don't/didn't come with sunshades. I went on fleabay and bought five camera sunshades for $7.95/ea (I think Sightron wants $50) for my scopes - problem solved.
As other's have mentioned, the side focus is sensitive. What I've noticed with mine is, say you're shooting at a 1000 yard target, from 980 - 1010 yards will be in focus (#'s pulled from rearend for example purposes only). Anything before or beyond isn't. I've been told the lower powered Sightrons aren't as sensitive. Doesn't seem like my Nightforce BR's are either. I shoot benchrest so the targets are fixed and this isn't an issue for me, I'm not sure how good it would be if you were glassing around for varmints with it...just thought I'd point it out. I'd really like to try out a newer one to see if any of the above has improved. Still, for $850 (BR model) it's really the best value out there for a high powered scope (my 0.02 of course).
