I'm looking for the web site of an individual that makes custom tactical slings(I can't remember the name!!!) His logo patch on the sling started with an "S", think maybe the first and second name started with an "S".
Looked like really well made and thought out slings,just can't find the web site again.......any help welcomed.....
 
Talking about slings, does anyone knows who sells the mountain shooter sling (sorry for re-using this thread)?
 
A big +1 on the mountain shooter sling.

It isn't super fancy, but it allows you to carry your rifle, and turn the sling into a shooting aid faster than any other I'm aware of. The TIS can be quick, if you want to wear the cuff.

TAB sling is quick, but non-constricting. I've never found the TAB sling (or non-constricting slings in general) to be as comfortable to shoot off of as constricting slings. I really want to give the Mountain Shooter sling a try. Maybe I ought to trade my TAB for one....
 
Sorry for the dumb question Temp9, but what do you refer by constricting?
What attracts me about the mountain shooter is its simplicity. It would be nice if, in addition to its (support arm) bicep loop, it also came with quick adjustment.
I started looking at the Savvy precision 2 point sling which has quick adjust and kind of a bicep loop (doesn't seem to have the option to tighten down as the Mountain shooter though).
Has anyone played around with the Savvy new quick adjustment slider? They mention that it works on friction. i wonder if it holds or slips under a strong pull.
 
I would love to try a Mountain Shooter sling on one of my hunting rifles, but the quick cuff on the TIS sling makes my bicep look huge and I love that. Especially when I'm wearing one of those Under Armour shirts. All kidding aside, is there a video of the MSS in action? I'm with Otero51 on if it would have a tendancy to slip under pressure.
 
Savvy Sniper, I found out about this product on SH, glad I did, First Class-made in USA, and they don't sell any of the "some of our stuff is made off shore" type crap!

I bought one of their slings with the Alpin metal hardware and triglide. This one

Savvy Sniper

Its a great sling that you can take from single point to two point. The tri glide is just a friction slider that allows you to easily one hand adjust the sling from a front carry position to a ready mode. It works well for me in the non stress environment that I have used it. Everything seems to be well sewn and the Cobra Alpini hardware is what all the other sling makers offer as a premium upgrade (savvy also offers hardware in a more cost conscious grade).

The guy that is sewing the slings will be the guy that you talk to if you have questions and he does respond, or his wife will respond and she is knowledgeable. They ask a few questions about your body type to correctly size before you order. My sling fits nice. Tight when I want it to be or loose when I want to maneuver the gun around some.

Im not high speed so I cant speak to how it works in comps or for duty but as far as being used by me to carry the rifle it works.

Constricting slings will tighten the loop around your bicep under tension. Think USGI slings. Non-constricting slings are just a loop, meaning when you pull the rifle away from your body to create tension, all the force is on the back of your bicep, not tightening around the circumference of your bicep.
 
Since my slings where mentioned several time I thought I would say a few things
The STandard SLip Cuff if strung in front like MOuntain Shooter. In the front it will work exactly the same. The rear is longer so you can cut it if you want the shortness of the Mountain but I like the longer length for lots of carry options
Before anyone attacks I made the SLip Cuff at least a decade before the Mountain Shooter, so I suggest this option for the many guys who already have slip cuffs, so they can try that approach. I don't say this to take any sales away from Mountain Shooter, as he is one hell of a nice guy

My suggestion for anyone looking to buy a precision sling is to try the TIS Slip Cuff Quick Release, Quick Cuff, TAB, and Mountain Shooter, as they all are unique and taste goes buyer to buyer
I don't know anything about the Savy Sniper so can not comment. I have used the three brands I mentioned and like those three brands
Just for clarity I own TIS and designed all my slings, which are USA made. The same goes for TAB and Mountain Shooter, they are designed and made in USA

As an add to my comment concerning the tri glide and the Savvy Sniper sling I own.

The function of the tri glide would not make me think precision/hi power rifle sling loop. A quick cuff, M1907 or GI web sling allow a binding attachment between the rifleman and rifle. When I use my M1907 the frog is so jammed into the keepers that getting the loop off my bicep is kind of a pain in the ass.

The function of the tri glide on the Savvy Sniper is to quickly adjust the length of the sling. With the model I bought at best you will get a hasty sling. My sling with the built in bungee there will always be some give that a precision loop sling does not have (you can order any sling without bungee if you want).

I cant speak to how well the tri glide will work to "lock" a loop around the shooters bicep if that is the intent.

I own one of your Quick Cuff slings and it is amazing. Some friends of mine and I took a 2 day custom rifle class last year where an hour or two was spent taking standing/kneeling/ sitting shots from 50 to 300 yards. Your sling was far superior to their slings at creating a rock solid platform and it showed. Long story short, They all own one of your slings now.

I am looking to replace the slings on a couple of my hunting rifles. They just might end up with Slip Cuffs on them.

I just ordered a sling from Savvy Sniper. Thanks to the info in this thread that helped me make my decision!
