To make a long story short this rifle has been sitting on consignment at a big local gun store for the last year and a half at $1100 and hasn't moved. Yesterday when I was in transferring another rifle I asked if the seller would take $900 for it. They called and sure enough they said yes so today I went back out and picked it up.

It's a stiller TAC30 action with 223 bolt face, unknown brand SS 6 groove 12 twist barrel at 24-26" (have yet to measure it), threaded 1/2-28 with a custom thread protector, a Timney competition trigger with straight knurled shoe and no safety. The stock isn't worth mentioning and will be replaced. I bought it mainly for the action to do a fast twist 223AI build with but if it shoots good I may just leave it be.

As luck would have it, the barrel turned out to be a 1:14. I measured it last night instead of going by what the guys at the store told me and it's definitely not a 1:12. That puts a damper on my plans because I was going to run the 53gr Vmax which doesn't even stabilize in a lot of 1:12's so I'm not even going to waste my powder and bullets to see if it shoots in this. I've got some factory federal varmint tipped 50gr AE223 stuff that my other 223 bolt guns and gas guns shoot great, some Hornady factory 40gr, and 55gr vmax loads I'm going to try this weekend. If it won't at least shoot the 50gr I'm going to pull it and order a 1:8 and rebarrel in 223AI. If it shoot the 50gr alright I'll use it for my groundhog gun for the rest of summer and rebarrel over winter.
