I have a DD M4 rail on my AR15. I noticed that the barrel nut that holds it in place is coming loose. Is this common? I talked to strngedays today, said he could never get his to stay tight.

What can be done to fix this? Loctite? Soddering?

Re: Having some issues

Replied on your other post too. Are you talking about the barrel nut where the retention posts set in or the threaded cover that goes over it and secures the rail?

If youre talking about the latter, I always set mine by hand tightening it, then taking a punch on one of the notches on the cover and tapping it with a hammer a couple times. Never had a problem with the rail coming loose.

Re: Having some issues

Nope, the thin cover isn't the problem. I tightened it and the rail is still loose.

I know this is not probably going to be the most helpful answer, but I fixed my loose Daniel Defense rail by getting a Midwest Ind unit to replace it. It just never felt right.
