Hey There,

Looking for some expertise on best recommended practices for scope mounting.

My set up: 20 moa base.
My scope: Premier 5-25
Rings: Premier 34mm 1.27"

Questions:
1.) Best practices for mounting? Links to a good tutorial or instructional (with pictures, because I'm slow...)
2.) Recommended tools / equipment?
3.) What should I be asking - what don't I know to ask?

Appreciate any/all help - this is my first custom build and want to do it right.

Thanks,

Emryse

Google 8541 Tactical scope mount

I think it's part 2 of a base and scope install. Has some good tips.

Get a Borka torque tool from a vendor on the Hide, if you don't already have a way to accurately measure recommended fastener settings.

Yes, it is that important.

Good luck.

Cornholeo, do you happen to know what the torque wrenches are that he uses in the video you posted (both on the rings and on the nuts to base)?

That is a Borka torque wrench but I use the Fat wrench and it has been good to go. You definitely want to use some kind of torque device and a little blue lok-tite to keep them tight.

Appreciate the reply... I googled Borka, but the two wrenches he uses in the vid look nothing like the ones they feature on the website?

Get a SCOPE RING LAPPING KIT. Use it per instructions to align rings. This keeps uneven ring pressure from torqueing yoru scope.

Otherwise get a good quality (Sphur or American Rifle Co., etc.) ONE-PIECE scope mount. Good ones are already trued.
