Does anyone use this scope for hunting? I have a opportunity to pick one up and have read where they seem to be pretty good scopes. I am looking for yalls personal opinions if you have used this scope.

Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10X50

I'm trying to decide between the Vortex and the Burris fullfield II 3-9x40.

Re: Vortex Diamondback

I have the diamondback 3-9X40 on a 17 hmr I use for hunting. The glass is on par with or slightly better than a vx I that my friend has. Things I like about the Vortex are finger adj. turrets, size, price and warranty. When I was looking for a new scope I looked though the Burris and thought it was brighter than my vortex but I didn't like the turrets and in the end bought the diamondback and haven't looked back.

Re: Vortex Diamondback

I have a 4-12x Diamondback. Its a great little scope. Tracks well, holds a zero, and the glass is pretty good for the price. Then you have the unstoppable Vortex warranty behind it. I plan on buying another one of these when I get a chance for my 17HMR as well.

Also, you might want to look at some of the Viper's on sale now. They are just a little more than the Diamondbacks normal price and are a much much better buy.

I know CameraLand, CS tactical, and Liberty Optics have the Vipers on sale. Note they aren't discounting all Vipers, just a few models.

I bought my Diamondback through Scott at Liberty Optics and was very pleased with the price and service.

I'm interested in buying a Dimondback 3-9 to put on my AR Carbine.
Any reason to move up and go with a Viper instead?
