What bullet to try first? 155 SMK Palma or 178 AMAX?

I have 100 SMK palmas and 200 178 AMAX. I'm debating which to try out first. The gun is a .308 Rem 700p LTR 20" 1/12. The only powder I have right now is IMR 4064 so I'm going to use that since its so hard to find anything right now. 155s will be fast and according to some buck the wind better, but not a lot of info I could find on the palma version. The 178 AMAX are proven in .308 and there is a lot of data to go off of. I eventually want to get out to 1000 and also be able to use the load for deer and hogs. For know I'll prolly be 500 and in until I get more comfortable. Thoughts?

I say try them both, see which shoots better and what velocities you can get out of both. If you can get the Amax up to 2650ish it would be the better performer on game (terminally) and still be able to reach out pretty far.

I run them all in my ltr. Honestly it likes the 178 amax despite everyones advice that it shouldnt. I think it has to do with the bullet shape and relation to the long throat.
I run h380 in my 308 loads as that is what I had when I started and IMHO it still works well. My load is .. 178 amax, cci 200 LRP, FC prepped brass( flash hole/primer pocket uniformed, trimmed to 2.005, chamfered etc. I run 46.5-47.2 gr h380 rifle dependant, at a COAL of 2.820 to fit in bdl mag box

My ltr also likes the 155 and 168 but do not have data in front of me now. I know I run imr 4064 in the 155 loads. good luck
