Nice looking setup!

I have a Savage sniper that had the wood sporterized and a Williams peep sight added. I restored it back to sniper configuration, or as close as I could get it, but used a Weaver K2.5. This particular scope has some serious parallax issues, so I will eventually replace it. But, when you get it lined up right, it's extremely accurate. Looking forward to seeing your impressions/reports with the Sarco scope. I know they've got mixed reviews, but I haven't seen a lot of real use reports on them. About 98% of what you will read about them is a bunch of uptight collectors that can't get by the fact that it's not the real thing, but have never even touched one.

Happy shooting,

John

I have one that was new but a company sportized after the war. It has the round knob on the bolt like MJ1s. Shoots like a dream with peep sights & lightweight. The stock is blond but you can see the 2 dowel holes for the cheek piece that were plugged. Lightweight, accurate & a joy to carry & shoot.

i know exactly what you mean. the scope is easy enough to work with the adjustment tool. the elevation and windage knobs give a soft click with every movement. it seems alittle mushy. the scope is heavy. i hope to be able to shoot this 600 yards and farther., so i will post a range report on it once i get a chance to shoot. how the scope tracks and stuff. but some collectors will never be happy unless they have the real thing. the original scopes when they come up are getting really costly.

i just wanted the look and i hope it preforms as good as it looks or i will be going the alaskan all weather scope route like the canadian T's.

i bought the rifle with original bracket pads because i wanted it lined up right.

Is the Sarco repro the same as the Gunparts (Numrich?) one?

If so, have a look at my smith's site (www.thamesvalleyguns.co.uk) as he has been using this on his repro No4T's and has a decent write up on his impressions. Look in the "Armourer's Notes" on the left side of the home page and click on the Replica No32 Scope link

the numrich ones are stamped mkII replicas and the sarcos are unstamped mk I replicas. there are no markings on the sarco model. which makes it harder for guy to pass them off as originals.
