Hi all,

This is my first post on here after finally deciding to join. So first thing I would like to say is; thank you to all the people contributing to this site. The amount of information on here is incredible. Thanks to information gathered here and other places I have decided on what equipment to get. My only problem is that I have no idea who makes a scope mount for a scope with a tube diameter of 36mm. I can find 1", 30mm, 34mm,35mm and 40mm, but not 36mm.

If someone out there knows who manufactures such a mount please let me know.

Thank,
Ed

Thank you, it is the Hensoldt 3.5-26x56 (I know, I am crazy).

I am waiting for an answer about the reticle and then it should be sent to me, also asked about the mount (which they can supply) but wanted to know if there are companies in the US that make them. I have no idea what mounts they use (dealer is in Europe, originally where I am from).

Hey! We finally got a buyer of the new Hendsoldt! Congrats! I was thinking about getting one too but that funky tube diameter made me hesitate.

Anyways, another supplier you can ask is Cameron Murphy of Murphy Precision. He is a hide vendor and can cut you some custom titanium rings for your scope. I always go to him when I want some custom height. Takes him about a month to cut it and he doesn't charge extra.

Yep, we are making them.
We have already got order from a number of companies and units for them.
They are basily the same as our other mounts exept for 36mm.
The main difference is the lack of level, as the battery housing covers where we have the level.
Starting our with 2 models.
1,5" high 0 mil/moa tilt.
1,5" high 16mil/55moa tilt

First batch are ready for shipment in late august and they are currently on surface treatment.

Thank you all for the posts, it was very helpful. For the mount I was thinking to get around 20moa/6mil tilt. Not sure what would be best for this scope if put on an DTA SRS. Pretty sure 0 tilt will make it impossible to sight in at 200 and go up to 1500+.

The 3,5-26 have 36 mils travel.
Without any tilted mount you will have about 18 mils availible.
That will easaly take a 338 out to 1500 yards from a 100 yard zero.
With a 16 mil mount, the same scope will have maybe 34 mils of availible elevation and you would be able to take your 338 to well over 2000 meters
So there is no reason for a 6 mil mount....

Thank you for the information on the tilt. The Spuhr 16 mil mount system is the one I would prefer for my rig. Don't know if I ever need to go that far but good to know that you can.

Thanks,
Ed

If I'm not mistaken, I believe hensoldt is shipping that unit out with a proprietary 36 mm mount. If not, then they damn should with that kind of price tag.

Hensoldt are not making their own mount, so I don't know if that is correct.
What I do know is that I have got orders from two anti terror units and a small number of dealers for our mount.
So therefor I guess, that Hensoldt is supplying the german mount, but it's not included.
But that is just a qualified guess.

Here is finally one of the 3 models of 36mm mounts we make.
All 38mm/1,5" high. (The can't be made much lower as the battery housing builds down considerably)
Comes in 0 and 16mil/60moa. And in cantilever 0 mil.

So what is the mount shown on the Hensoldt 3.5-26x56? It's the same mount in most pics but I cannot find what it is.

It looks just like the 34mm & 35mm mount with the exception of the integral level. Since the big Henny battery compartment would block the view of the level Spuhr left it out and charged $100.00 MORE for the mount. Seemed kinda backasswards to me. Leave a part out of the construction of a particular mount that is integral to the other mounts should drop the price of the 36mm mount, not increase it $100.00.

Surefire, I know the mount you talk of, but I have no idea either. I ultimately went with the Spuhr and it is great. The reason the mount is more expensive than the others is probably because they have to make a special run for the 36mm, as far as I know the Hennie is the only one with a 36mm tube. And smaller quantities usually make the price go up. It is a shame it does not have an integral level in a different position, but to be honest I wouldn't know where to put it either because of the battery compartment of the 3.5-26x56.
