I am having a rifle built in the 6.5x47 lapua and was looking for advice on die selection. I am going to use this rifle for mostly shooting paper 100-500 yards for now, I already have ordered the redding 2 pc comp. die set which included the micrometer seating die and a type S full length neck bushing die. I have read to get maximum use out of each shell case you should only neck size after fire forming to your chamber. I now see you can get a redding type S "neck" bushing die pn 71479, is this a must, should I have ordered that one instead? I thought there was only that one set so I just ordered it now having second thoughts if I made the right purchase. I bought the set # 36479 along with just a body die # 75479, it was cheaper going that rout than buying the 3 piece set which contained all the same pieces.
thanks for any help

I think you can order the just the redding body die. I'm pretty sure that's the 3rd die in the 3-pc set. If not, someone will come along and correct me.

I have the 3-pc redding competition dies, which have the body die, micrometer neck sizing die, ad micrometer seating die.

Disregard my post...I missed the last part of your post. I find it difficult to make coherent responses whilst using my phone and being unable to read what I'm responding to.

I didnt see a set that had a mic. on the type S bushing die, bet thats a $400 die set...lol
this shit is expensive, should have built a Hot Rod instead, 3000 lb 135mph projectile
