I recently put together a rifle with an AICS. What are the real benefits of the viper skins? I already love the feel of the chassis and don't want to buy something that is really not suited for my liking. What are your thoughts? AS

I don't have the viperskins (yet), but I plan on buying them for my AI for the following reasons:

I like the verstaility of the pistol grip and thumb rest
The countoured edges
the accessory rail option
the weight difference----even if it is a few oz i can save I am going to do it
I understand the fit and finish of the viper skins is top notch

I bought a used rifle that had viper skins on it and when I got it the seems looked like crap. I had to take them off figure out where it was riding high and dremmel them down till I finally got a nice straight seem. Not saying this happens to every rifle but just like a car, aftermarket parts never fit just like the oem ones.

on the plus side I do like the look and feel of the pistol grip way better than the thumbhole, but user preferences will vary.

LOVE MINE! Fit is excellent with no seems, thumb shelf, side rail mounts for laser and flush cups, fit feel and finish excellent, ergo pistol grip and just a nice quality product.

+1 for viperskins. No seam or fit/quality issues at all, if anything, they are better built than the factory AI ones IMO. It's one of the best upgrades you can make to the AICS IMO.

How are you liking the V2 PRS? I don't use a rear bag much but the longer bottom extension looks like it would be effective for a gloved hand as well.

I like it, I find it more to my liking than the V1 that also came with it. I tried both out and while the V1 is better than the stock AI the v2 is even more comfortable than the V1 IMO. It definitely allows you to get your support hand in a comfortable position with little effort. The V2 upgrade is worth it IMO.

I also prefer the V2 because it allows for the Accushot monopod.
