I doubt I'm the only one that’s ever had troubles with nylon suspenders or straps sliding around at the most inopportune of times when moving and/or shooting. For many of us it’s more an annoyance than anything else but an issue that still has to be dealt with. From time to time I like to use a wrist coach/arm board to hold dope cards and some other info for my rifles when shooting a competition or at the range. What I don’t like is the smooth Cordura nylon backside sliding down my sleeve and no matter how tight I make the straps I can’t get it to stay put. Hopefully I fixed that today with my wife’s hot glue gun by running a bead along the backside of the arm board to give it some traction against my sleeve. The glue is fast drying and when it’s set up I noticed that it’s got some tack to it, which should help immensely.

Hot glue guns are stupid simple to use and I figure this technique can be extended to rifle slings, chest rigs, packs, or anything else that you want to have a little extra traction. I noticed on the Cordura that the glue sticks well but isn’t permanent because I was able to peel my first attempt off fairly easily once it dried. Learning that made me feel better so if I make a mistake or decide it's not working as well as I'd hoped I can return it to it's original condition. Hope this helps some of you out.

That's nice! If you or someone needed something stickier though, a similar bead of silicone would work well.

I have not tried it for this application, but there is a tennis shoe sole repair product called Shoe - Goo that should also work nicely, haven't seen any lately, but wasn't looking for it either. I guess it's still available.

+1 for the Shoe Goo. Wonderful stuff. Good idea using hot glue, bead is a little cleaner!
