I went out to shoot for the first time in too long and about 3/4 of the way through my range session I saw some problems arise in my Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP. Circles. What appear to be moisture inside the scope. And quite a few of them. I made a quick video before I had to get to work and now that I am home Im still left wondering what I should do. Do I contact vortex CS and see what they will do for my or wait a week and see what comes of it. Im sure vortex will take care of me, but it is a PITA to re-do everything. I would assume that if moisture got in the scope the seal is broken some where and probably isnt going to be 100% any way so it looks like I will be sending it in.

Anyway. Here is the video:

Best warranty in the business. They will definitely take care of you. I have had to use the warranty on a set of binos and they were truly a "no questions asked" type of company.

Stuff happens with optics no matter how careful the company is and no matter how quality the components are. You're about to find out the difference between a cheaper scope and a scope that you've invested in. Dial the scope all the way up and count the number of clicks to get to the top. Then dial all the way left and count the number of clicks. Then write these values down. Then dial your new one all the way left and all the way up then go down and right by the values you wrote down if you're worried about trying to get onto paper again. Or just use the barrel as a bore scope. Remounting a scope and properly torquing things should be considered a fairly minor task. If its not chalk this issue up to more practice.

I used on on my 6-24. Sent out the scope on my dime, and got a brand new one in the mail 4 days later. Shipped back at their cost.

Thinking of a new scope soon. New to long range shooting. New to crazy prices one can spend on an optic. From what little research I've done, Vortex seems like a lot of scope for the money.$1000 for me is A LOT of coin! $700-$800 would be absolute top end price range for me to justify at this time, but I'm leaning more toward the Vortex the more I read.Guess I just need to see one, look through the glass myself and see how it looks. I have a Leupold VXIII now, and it is a very clear optic. How would you guys say the Vortex compares in clarity?

I'm about to see firsthand how out works too. I'm having a problem with the zero stop function on my razor. The first time i called about it they walked me through an easy fix. But the problem has progressed. It'd be cool to get a new one, but fixing this one will be fine with me.

Their warranty and service is indeed top of the line, but doesn't anybody see something wrong with all these Vortex warranty threads taking about how they had to send something back and how great of an experience it was? Yeah they take care of you by getting you or a scope back to you very fast but doesn't anybody find it strange that this many people have to use the warranty? I myself had to use it 3 times on 2 scopes, sportin wood used it 4 times, and plenty of others have had to use it several times. I bought some of the earlier PSTs and they both had tracking issues that I finally got tired of and tired of sending them back so I sold both. Doesn't appear things have changed much in the last few years as I see lots of threads centered around how they have had to use their warranty and how great it was like they were happy they had to use it. I personally find it a giant pain in the ass to have to take the scope off, package it up, get
It sent out, wait to get it back, then go through putting it back on and having to get it dialed back in and in my case only to find out it is still messed up or develops the issue not long after I get it back and having to do the whole process over again. For me, the best warranty is the one I don't have to use.
