Figured out how to take the bolt all the way apart without a $30 part.
This may cost Pacific Tool and Gauge some money
Have fun and shoot straight!

Good thinkin' and Thank You! I'm going to a 700 armorer school next month, and I'm gonna cheese off the instructor........
Great video! He needs to stop leaning against that table though. Made it look like he had some nice boobs and I kept getting distracted.
His fifth post,.....It's up,It's good......a SCORE !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Scott,Looks like I'll be doing mine on the week end.As soon as I find a "firing pin spring compression tool"....laying around some where.
Thanks again for sharing that tid-bit .
I feel violated... must make new video...
FWIW, I watched the vid, and never noticed what they are all torqued about. What I was watching was Scott working on the bolt. Nice vid, and thanks for the info.
Gotta be one of those days..... Drove out the cocking piece pin, but the cocking piece will NOT separate from the firing pin. Right now, it is soaking in Kroil, just in case it is corroded together. Any other suggestions that doesn't involve explosives or a BFH?
You need to try a more expensive method, use a Dime.
Regards,
Steve
trouble is there isn't any clearance between the lever and the bolt shroud to stick anything in. The gun was purchased around Christmas. I wouldn't put it past Remington to try and eliminate the penny trick to make people buy their press... Could this be the case?
I've never seen one without the notch. You just have to put some muscle into it. You could buy the tool from Brownells, but for a one-off takedown, just use the boot lace trick.
