I've been looking for a suitable drag bag for my (yet to arrive) LRP-07. Being that Tractus (Tractus Specialty Arms) is located a few miles from my house and sells the Tactical Operations bags I dropped in to visit them a buy the bag. It's a very well thought out design and extremely well made. Though a bit on the pricey side, there's ample storage and it includes a stowed shooting mat. I recommend both the bag and Tractus; they were great to work with.

I'll post a bit more details once I get my rifle and finish up the kit.

Can you please describe what you think constitutes a well thought out design and how/where it is well made. There are so many darn drag bags out there. It makes my head spin. Be nice to see someone present some criteria (even if I don't totally agree with them) that establishes what constitutes a well thought out bag in terms of design - ie. slings/backpackable, multiple sizes, adaptability, weight, cost, etc. Although I am new to this forum, I am not new to forum in general. One of my concerns is trying to sift thru all the information and try to make some sense of it. Objective commentary is useful. Subjective commentary begs for more details. Eventually, something useful can come of things but it would be much better to get it the first time. Thanks in advance.

Ranger 822 I want to do a few more shoots with my tac op bag then I will post my opinions and observations.

I see your in the springs. I live in castle rock so if you wanted to check it out in person we could meet over a pint.

The TacOps bag and the EuroOptics bag are identical. Jus' sayin'...

Well, except for the embroidery.

One FLAW I find in all drag bags; the handle should be attached to the rifle, not the bag that carries the rifle. The design flaw is that the heavy rifle becomes dead weight within the bag meant to support it.

Thats what makes the Tac Ops bags so great is that just about every other seller had a chinese manufacturer steal the design and produce it in lesser materials at a cheaper price. Unlike trying to determine what came first - the chicken or the egg - you can know that the Tac Ops was there before the Midway/Galati model.

The bag is no mystery it holds a rifle and a bunch of stuff. Its well made and its heavy. Loaded with a 16 pound MWS, ammo and range stuff it is one heavy seabag. I like it alot better than a hardcase but if I was going to drag it I'd bring a winch/come along.

If yor looking for something similar with less features but functional Triad is offering a US made range bag. You wont go wrong with Tac Ops just know its a beast.

I agree with review criteria and objective observation. To better answer your question, I was looking for a quality bag to support my rifle for predator hunting. I liked the dag bag idea, but much of what I saw was taticool in design, but had (my opinion) real functional flaws. What has impressed me initially about the TacOps bag are things like material quality, stitching quality, soft zipper pulls, webbing handle location and quality, etc.; the way reinforcement webbing is on the bottom, and how the shooting mat folds and provides more cushion on the drag side is well thought out design. It's also US made, which I strongly favor. Having camped and backpacked for almost 30 years I have a pretty good sense of shit or shinola. I'll provide a more in depth review once I get my rifle and pack for a long weekend of hunting. I suspect this will be a bag that will be able to support my shooting kit for a weekend or longer in harsh environments.

I hope that helps a bit.
