anyone try Ruger Scout mags in a ACIS?

If I am not mistaken they are made by "accurate mags" and are fully compatible.

mates on rattles a bit, check out the link above they say they are not the same too. just got some 10rd aics mags will try in his rifle and post soon.

The poly mags will not work without modification. We have a few, and plan on trying to make them work...eventually. As it is, they sit too low in the magwell to feed, due to the thickness of the feed lips. THere are also some seating issues due to external ribbing, but thats a pretty easy fix.

All in all, even if they can be made to work, I dont really see the point.

I saw metal ones at a gun store the were made by accurate mag. They looked to be identical to AICS mags. I have never tried but they are very damn close if they don't work.

Look on accurate mags site and see if thier is a different number for different mags.

Yes and no. Dimensions on the Ruger mag are a few thou smaller in width and breadth, don't ask me for the exact measurements, I can't remember them, and I got rid of the Ruger mag awhile back. It will click in, but the fit is a bit on the sloppy side. You could have feeding issues and extraction problems.

If you got an AE, that means you spent some good money on a rifle. Fork out the coin for the proper mag, another few dollars isn't going to hurt. LOL

This answer also applies to Remmies sitting in a AICS. Well at least with mine and a few others I have seen.

I use the Ruger marked Accurates. I have had no issue through either my Atlasworxs bottom metal, or my McRees.

in the midway link, it was the "1.0" mags had thicker feed lips and would not feed right in any gun, ruger remade them, "2.0" and they say they work..

i guess ill find out, just ordered a 5rd to test in a mcree

"The first batch of these had long feed lips, and would jam consistently. Ruger shortened the lips and the problem is gone. Feeding reliability has been 100% cycling 50 or so rounds here at my desk. "

The length isnt the issue, its the thickness of the lips themselves. We have tried both versions, and the same issues arise. In a stock with bottom metal, one could recut the inlet a bit higher, and they might work, but in a Mcrees, I dont think its gonna work. Either way, you are gonna have to do some modification to the outside of the mag body to even get them to seat.

The metal mags are in fact made by Accurate-Mag and are AICS pattern; they work beautifully in my 260's CDI DBM.
