Xlr Chassis

I picked this rifle up from a gentleman on another forum a few days ago. This is my first time owning a rifle with the XLR Chassis. I am very impressed with the ergonomics. Every other rifle I have has a muzzle brake because I am not a fan of recoil. I realize a 308 is not a very stout round but the the geometry of this stock really soaks up what is there. The accuracy of this factory Howa is quite impressive as well. Pic is a 4 shot group GMM

I got my XLR chassis at 7pm tonight and had the install finished in less than an hour, including changing the scope rings. and shortening the scope rail to clear the hand guard. Mine looked and fit perfectly. It did take about 12 weeks to get here.

Joe, what scope rings/ scope are you using?
I have to get a new set of rings or mount.

TPS Medium on the 3.5-21x50 Bushnell is perfect with the XTR standard material front hand guard and a 20 moa rail. The TPS Low was fine before the XTR Chassis. I had both on hand.

FloridaBuck--I have my chassis and scope adjusted now and shot some video that contains a close up of the scope rings and scope plate for you. There isn't any audio yet--I'll add that after I shoot the gun on Sunday with the new stock.

The gun finally fits me well when I'm in the prone position, mainly because I can get the butt plate high enough and still see through the scope.

Is it me or does everyone find the weekend excruciating when you are waiting for a toy to be delivered on Monday? That's why I order on Monday, have it before the next weekend. Not to mention, constant F5's on UPS/Fedex site for updates to the tracking info?

You mean like when you call the local UPS driver on his cell phone and ask if you can meet him at the Whataburger for lunch instead of waiting for him to deliver to your house 7 hours later?

I got to shoot mine this morning for the first time. Good results. I also took some video of myself so I could see what all I am doing wrong. Looks like I need to move my hips right and preload the bipod consistently. At least now with this stock, I am able to seat the butt stock high enough in to my shoulder that the gun doesn't jump much at all now. The drop on my Accustock was just too much for me. Gun and magazine functioned flawlessly through 50 rounds this morning.
