Hello everyone. Long time reader first time posting. I am just curious if anyone has modified this rail to accept a 14.5" or 16" barrel with noveske switchblock. I have searched and found some other rails modified like the DD however I was hopping to have seekins upper, lower and rail. I have not purchased barrel or rail yet just trying to figure out the best options. thanks for the help.

Thank you for the reply. Ya I know it will not slide over I was hoping some one has cut or some how modified. It to work.

I've seen people custom cut NSR to work and that's a very small ID rail. They say they have to disassemble the switch block to get it installed. Very sexy if you can get it done. I personally got lucky and found a noveske switch lock rail used from a parted out upper

You got all kinds of lucky finding an SB rail. Like others, I've modified DD rails to fit but no others, sorry.

Thank you guys for the reply's. I will have to look closer at the NSR. Ya you did luck out. the DD rail looks great modified maybe a better way to go since i know it looks good modified. Or maybe i will just have to be a guinny pig and see how it turns out!

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread. I have a 16" Noveske with a SwitchBlock and have yet to decide on a hand guard.

The centurion rails are two piece which would work if u cut a section of the top rail out where the switchblock is located. Might also be able to use a DD ris II as it is a two piece as well. Just be sure to measure a 1000 times and cut once :) good luck

Ya a 2 piece set up maybe easier. I haven't had much experience. With them are they as strong
as a solid rail? If any one has pics that would be great.

Well I just pulled the trigger on a 16 inch noveske recon barrel w/switchblock so now I guess its time to decide on a rail to hack away on! Nobody wants to donate a seekins sar rail for an experiment do they or if someone knows where they are available that would help too.

I'm not sure why it shows question marks on the post above. It was supposed to be a funny face. I guess you need to be smarter. Than your phone.

Thank you black max but correct me if I am wrong. I have the standard seekins billet upper and don't believe the mcsr rail will work.

Well after learning the mcsr rail does fit on a standard upper I ordered the 12 mcsr. Just got it in the mail last night! Was so excited I snuck out to the shop once the family was in bed. Pulled out the hack saw and went to town! I was thinking I have lost mind when I was cutting on a nice new rail. I then took a file to clean it up. Overall I am very happy with how it turned out. I test fit everything just to make sure I cut in the correct spot and will post some pics once I get a chance.

I'm just trying to build some anticipation before I unveil! Jk just need a chance to get to a computer.

Hey thanks! a little more file work and something to put on the bare aluminum and i think i should be good to go.

Did the handguard slide over the SwitchBlock and drop into place?

I got side tracked on this project, but I'm picking it up now. Grohs02, two questions, please. Did you simply slide the modified MCSR over the SwitchBlock until it was able to drop into place and slide onto the barrel nut or was there more to it? Second with it cut as closely as yours (which looks great), can you still get the SB wrench onto the SB? Mine seems to require the wrench a lot.

Thanks,

Kerry

Kerry,

No I had to slide the switch block and rail on at the same time. I lucked out and the set screw on the SB lined up with one of the holes in the rail, however the pin was tough to install but with enough messing around I got it. I do not have the SB wrench so I do not know if it will work. I hope this helps let me know if there is anything else you have a question on.
