just picked up a new rcbs neck sizing die,for my 338lm brass.i went to use my lyman universal decapper and the 338 did not fit.i like making all my brass deprimed so i can run them in the ss tumbler then neck size and reload.so i set up the neck die with a 1/4 turn down on the 3rd pc of brass i broke the pin so i pulled a pin out of my 300 win mag die set and installed it into the neck sizer on the 15 th round the pin broke again.....whats going on,am i doing something wrong
 
Most universal joints have roller bearings that work GREAT as decapping pins. The next time you are at a mechanic's shop, ask if you can have his old universal joint roller bearings.
 
Make sure the case is PROPERLY seated in the shell holder, then smoothly cam the ram up.
If you do it right, you will feel exactly when your pin hits the flash hole (or not).
Finesse it, don't crank it.
