Anyone running 20" Howa Varmint/Heavy barrel in 243 or 308?

Guess not, seems like a sleeper w/one piece bolt, owned the sporters in the past and good build quality. Figure they would be a great value.

I have one in 308. Haven't had it very long. It really likes 168GMM. I have been very pleased with it so far.
Trigger is not the greatest but its not terrible either ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376332710.960553.jpg

Wow - thought the dot in the middle at first glance was a hole, not the bullseye, GREAT Shooter/shooting! Is that a pic of it w/custom stock, etc? Looks like it shoots as well as any rifle - Congrats and thanks for posting.

I've got a Howa M1500 SA with a Kreiger barrel in .308. Very happy with it. PT&G and CDI make an AICS compatible DBM for it (minor fitting required).

Nice info guys, good looking rig up there, thanks for sharing. What's a stock like that run, and where do you get one? Brake? Thanks.

XLR Chassis was around 800 ish(pretty expensive but the comfort and versatility is worth it IMO)

Bolt fluting and knob was installed by LongRifles Inc through their group buy.

Brake is a Kahntrol ( no smithing required)

I had two of them. I gave the 20" varmint to my brother and sold the other. They were both 1/2 MOA rifles with 168 gr FGMM.

Had a heavy .243. Shot very well even with flimsy stock and not much load development. Currently have a Howa w/ Kriger barrel in 6.5x55 in McM A2 stock. Works wonders.
