For give me if this has been covered before, I tried searching and didn't come up with much.

I recently picked up for almost nothing a Remington 700 SPS Tactical .223 for my girlfriend to shoot at the range. (So she'll stop shooting my hand loads. Lol) It came with a BSA but I can't stand it, even if its not me shooting it. Now I'm torn between a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 or a Nikon M223. Anyone have any experiences with either? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I had a mark ar 6-18 i think it was. It was great but you would need to make sure the ballistics are matching. I think the Mark Ar is designed for a 20" ar, not a longer barreled ar. And Nikon have the ballistic plea reticle that can be, with the software,be made to work to any bullet weight, and rifle, any bullet. The glass in the leupold was better than the nikon though. Just my .02. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info. I have both Nikon Monarchs and Leupold VX-3's on my hunting rigs. But what I just realized is that only the Mark AR offers mil-dot, and I want to teach her how to range. I could be wrong but I think both are calibrated for 55 grainers. Her barrel is a 1:9 so that should be fine. Being that they are almost exactly the same price I just wanted some opinions.

We have sold both optics. BY FAR the Leupold Mark AR MOD. The Leupold smokes the Nikon M233. We can get you ether scope so if we can be of help let me know.
