My $400 build

Remington 700 SPS Tactical .223 I built up for my girlfriend (so she'll stop shooting my hand loads, lol). The whole thing was spray painted, ugliest camo job I've ever seen. Picked it up on the cheap, real cheap, and went to work on it. Broke it down, got all the krylon off and cleaned it up. Ditched the horrendous Houge rubber stock and found a pull off from what I believe was a Sendero. Lapped the raceways and the lugs, bore after that. She's smooth now. The BSA scope will get trashed but for now not bad for $400 in to it.

Just don't tell her how little it cost, talk up how much work/love you put into it for her. P-)

Thinking of dropping a Luepold Mark AR Mod 1 on the top (mil-dot). Can't decide if I want to teach her the milliradian system or not.

That's a great find. If I could find a 700 with a heavy barrel for 400 bucks I'd be all over it.
