The manual says every 1000 rounds, but I read a lot about the can reaching it's best suppression potential after around 500 rounds. So how often are you guys actually cleaning this thing?

The dip will strip the finish off of anything you put in it. It won't hurt the metal from what I have seen but it will discolor the finished parts. An Ultrasonic cleaner will yield the same result.
