Familly project for a veteran

so here my last find here in canada. It took me 3 years to find this saginaw M1.
The rifle is for my grand-father who served in late ww2/ Indochina War and Algerian war. He served from 1944 to 1962
He serve with:
19th Infantry Division(september 1944)
then was incorporated in the 3rd Colonial Commando Parachute Battalion(1948-1950)
-3rd Colonial Parachute Battalion(reformed in 1951)
-And lastly incorporated in the 10th Parachute Division during algerian war.

So this rifle was one of he's favorite rifle who was issued to support unit and paratrooper in the french army. He always regretted no keeping it after he was released and look for one all he,s life. Now in September he will turn 95 years old and me and my father will give him he's service rifle with all he's medal and units badge.

i have traveled all around France to find them.

Good to see some love for the venerable M1 Carbine and for the proud men who fought with them!! A job VERY well done, sir!!!
