Can I use only H4895 in my .25-06? Or is it too hot? I'm also leaning toward RL 15. 100 gr HPBT. or 117 gr SST.

4895 and R15 would be way down on my list? I have the Ackley Improved version. I long ago decided that 100 gr. bullets satisfied all my needs, specifically the 100 gr. Ballistic Tip. In spite of all the hysteria surrounding temperature stable propellants, I get the best performance with R22, about 3400fps. Or, a full case of H4831sc might work for you, if you can find it? BB

What is the bid difference between 90 gr BT and the 100 gr HPBT ? I have some 100's ready to load. I wish there weren't so many different grains available. It's confusing. Lol
And after further review, I am looking for RL 22 and H4831SC.

For some reason RL22 works in most 25-06 with most bullets. My best load was 55.2 with a 115 gr berger or 44.3 H4831SC with a 115 gr berger but the RL22 load was the best.

I found RL-22 to be somewhat temperature sensitive. My end-all solves-all load for the 25-06 is the Nosler 115 grain ballistic tip over a full case of Hodgdon Retumbo powder using Winchester magnum primers. My gun is a Ruger #1V if that makes a difference.

I have used IMR 4064 for 30 years. But I'm going to try some of the Hodgdon H4831SC. A friend of mine loves it with heavier bullets.
