I worked with a number of these dudes in 2009 in JSOTF-P. I was pretty impressed with them all-around. Where we were, they didn't have to make very long shots and the jungle didn't permit that. Nonetheless, pretty solid.
I shot against a number of Filipinos in IPSC and IDPA competitions as well and our dudes rarely beat the best of the Filipinos, though they were running custom 1911s and we had M9s.

I think some of the most fun at a Highpower Match was with a group from the Philippines. These guys were NUTS....
Yeah, I know they have a lot of IPSC-style comps there in the PI. I go there every year as my wife is Filipina, and have made some shooting/hunting connections. Had heard that the PI snipers were supposed to be very well trained. Just thought i'd ask in passing. Interesting stuff--Tthks. guys!
Among all the people arrived here for work-related reasons, I have ever been impressed from the deep politeness,honesty & good behaviour of all them, women and men_
Learned how they have earned their right to be historically considered among the most ruthless and effective fighters among the ethnic groups living on the shores of the Pacific ocean, I must admit my overall respect about them
On the other side, nobody be fooled from the really TRUE sense of the respect and deep kindness they will show you , a.k.a.: think twice before giving them any REAL reason to to behave differently_
I'm not a politically correct-minded person by any mean, my feelings here are are generally limited from the forum rules only, but I will be quite happy if my words of praise will be trusted_ (you,too)
