I picked up the stock unused from an acquaintance that decided to go the semi-auto route over a bolt action build. Sometimes you just get lucky.

That said, Lisa and Jeff from JAE were great with advice and pointers in locating parts and with instructions for disassembly prior to the hydrodip.

Samples,
Thanks for the post. I appreciate the fact you listed all of your suppliers. Too many good lookin' guns posted here that we have no clue what the parts inventory is.

Looks like the opening post got fixed! Thank you all for the positive feedback. I hope to have a thorough range report to post shorty.

That is one of the best looking rigs I've ever seen. Love that coating. I have the J-Allen surgeon build, I'm positive you will love it.

I think that is one of the nicest rifles I have seen in a long time. I have been looking at the same stock, Do you think the finished weight of your Rig is comparable to say something in an AICS? The only complaint I have heard about these stocks is that they are heavy, so I was just looking for some input. Thanks and again really nice, I now have to clean my computer from licking it.

Any issues pairing the Deviant the the JAE-700 cage? I have both on order for my build. BTW rifle looks amazing, nice job. Mike at Deifance was wondering about port clearance.

Cool now I know I can dip my stock, how much that set you back?
Any my stock tips the scale at 9lbs with nothing but the stock, and I have had AICS and I am not a fan after this stock. It took a year but well worth it

No issues with the action mating with the JAE-700. I used a Timney 510U which required me to shave .2" off the inside of the stock to facilitate proper engagement of the safety. I'll try to post some pics later this week if you need them.

The stock was dipped through Black Hills Hydrographics.

Great guys, service, and quality work. Give them a buzz for a quote on dipping your stock.

For anybody who is interested about the JAE700 stock, I spoke with them at length on Monday. Seems as though they are doing a "want it now" build with every option under the sun for $1600+, and the wait time is 4/5 months. If you want a custom setup expect a 12+ month wait with a $400 deposit.

That would be great! And thanks for the reply.

Really nice! Especially considering this is your first precision bolt gun. Starting to see a couple Kryptek hydro dips out there - I like 'um, slick camo pattern.

As someone who is almost 25 months into their quoted 10-12 month wait for a Gen 3 M1A stock I'd suggest you take any of their lead time estimates with a block, not a grain, of salt.

Lisa is great to work with and their quality is excellent-- but she needs to start quoting people 36 months and then when they show up in 30 months you'll be happy they beat their estimate by 6 months. :D
