I have a 308 F/TR rifle and I'm envisioning milling it for AICS mags, putting it in a chassis, and suppressing it. Am I crazy, or is this possible? Other option would be to just trade it towards a 700 or Templar action, but I really like the trigger.

That said, you could sell the target action for enough to get a complete tikka t3 and would have a better base gun, but that is just opinion. I have a target action that I'm machining to take AICS mags, but I'll probably still pick up the tikka every time. I'm just doing it because I like machining and modifying stuff for the he'll of it.

It is more than just milling out the bottom of the receiver to accept mags, the trickier setup is cutting the feed ramp into the lower lug abutment...but it has been done before, if you are paying shop rate for machine time you are better of trading it into a savage precision target repeater action (chrome moly 6br action about 100 more than ss pta)
