I always said there was no such thing as "no wind".....................I lied.

I shot the Wyoming CMP Games (Vintage Sniper & Garand Match) at Cody on Thursday and Friday. I used my "no wind" zero throughout both matches. Not one click left of right throughout both matches. In nearly 40 years of shooting High Power, I believe this is the first time I've seen this............and in Wyoming too.

Check out the tape on the scope stand.

But how did you shoot.

Myself and Glock24 recently experienced this phenomenon as well, we were holding between zero and .1-.2 mil in either direction as wind tickled our .224 and .264 bullets last Saturday at 1000y. Wonderful day for groups but not much for wind training :)

Didn't do too bad with the Vintage Sniper, I was using my home made M1903a4 w/ an old El Paso Weaver 2.5X with at post sight. Didn't have any windage problems but a bit of elevation at 600 years not being use to a scope with a post sight. My doings, more practice. Also I didn't have a partner for the Team match and met a guy from MO who was in the same boat. First time we met let alone shot together. We still got a bronze metal.

As to the Garand, different story, I really suck at off hand because I'm to lazy to practice dry firing. Other then that the Garand did great. Still no windage changes were needed.

Kraig, I had that happen here in Laramie a couple weeks back. It just didn't feel right! Good shooting and congrats on the bronze!

Good Job! I didn't know they were giving medals now for Vintage Sniper matches. That's goo to know.

As you can see by the tape (behind my back) there wasn't a lot of wind during the offhand stage either. Couldn't use that as an excuse.

I can't believe someone posted that zero wind "didn't feel right". In a 1000 yd match at Camp Pendleton this past Saturday, we had an extremely rapid fishtailing headwind that averaged around 15 mph with gusts over 20. It was a bloodbath. By the 3rd match, I would have killed for no wind (LOL).
