I recently bought this: Savage Arms. I like it a lot, but like my 700P, the comb isn't quit high enough. On my 700, I used a Tac Ops stock pack and some velcro to lift the comb, which worked surprisingly well. My only concern is with Monte Carlo style stock which drops down at the bottom, will this work? What have you guys done? I'm very very very opposed to any solutions which involves drilling the stock.

On my MKII FVT, I built it up with foam and a 1/2 piece of 1-1/4" PVC (cut in half about 5.5" long, and taped it on to the top of the comb, then covered it with some camo material I had on hand. I think there are several here who have done a similar fix. I'll post a picture.

Here's a picture of what I did. It ain't pretty, but it works.

I used one of those heavy foam pool noodles kids use to float with, and just cut it with my metal shears. I cut the pvc with a hack saw.
