I have a Ruger hawk eye action that I stripped and built a 300 Win Mag from. It has a 26" true bull barrel, no taper from the chamber, roughly 1.25" diameter with a free floated and reinforced stock. My intended purpose for this rifle is a zero of 300 but be able to learn on this rifle to reach out and touch my target in excess of 1000 meters. That being said I have been doing a great deal of reading on reloads and powders. With my experience in reloading my 308 I understand that each rifle is a bit difference so I am looking for a good starting point. I am debating between RL 22 and IMR 4831 with a Barnes TTSX or Nosler Partition 180 grain.
For optics I have read a great deal of reviews and I am going between a night force beast, Luepold LRT or the SWFA. I understand that you get what you pay for and to each is own, but if anyone has any expereience or insight with any of this I would really appreciate it!!!!
