The Army Marksmanship Shooters again prove they are the best in the world winning the NTIT (Rattle Battle) Match at Perry, the fourth consecutive year in a roll (a California Civ. Team won in 2009).

The AMY posted a score of 1362, 120 points a head of the 2nd place California team who fired 1242, the Marines came in third with a score of 1223.

The AMU team fired all their ammo (382 rounds) at 600 & 500, grounding their gear and walking back to the 300 & 200 with the remaining teams who still had ammo left.

The Rattle Battle was always my favorite team match when I use to shoot the Wilson Matches, but we never came close to the standards set by the AMU.

Congrats Army.

I was watching the AMU team when they shot rattle battle, was impressive watching the targets go up with hits in the mid to upper 30s at 600 for the straight away shooters, their swing shooters judging by their round hits were hitting close to 100%.

The wind was not bad, I coached the TX Silver team (out of competition) in the early relay, we only had 2 minutes at 600. We were centered, but on early relays it was a seeing game for the older guys.

Congrats to the AMU!

But best in the world? Were they shooting against teams from other countries or is a "world series" like baseball? :)

Yup...it aint a real match unless Paraguay shows up... :)

good shooting and great strategy, the 600 and 500 targets have higher scored per hit than the 200 and 300 yards targets do.
