After the abundant positive feedback I've read on the hide, I've chosen to build a hunting rifle with Phoenix Custom Rifles. This is a decision I am beyond happy with. I don't even get my new rifle until next week but I have a couple pics I thought y'all might enjoy.

This build is a 308 with a Stiller Tac30 action, Shilen trigger @ 2.75 lbs, PT&G Bottom Metal, McMillan Remington Classic stock in McWoody, and a Brux #5 10 twist 20" Cerakoted-to-match-the-action barrel. This is my first custom rifle and I'm so excited I had to share.... Keith was great to work with on the build. My next pics will be of the groups my new baby shoots. Cheers gents...

That's a sweet hunting rifle, not sure if I've ever seen mcwoody before. Congrats!

diggin' that stock, brother. Looks like a fun ride.

Thanks a ton gents. I'm a traditionalist so I love wood and blue on a hunting rifle but hate stainless and synthetic...at least I used... Thanks again for the support. Waiting for this rifle is so much worse than waiting for Xmas as a kid.

Nice rifle! I hadn't seen nor heard of the McWoodys either. That'll be a beauty for hunting!

So I finally got to shoot her...she is a HAMMER!!! I barely made it to the range in time to shoot. I know the pic below is only a 3-shot group but the last shot may as well have been in the dark (could barely see my crosshairs and the target). The black sticky at 11 or so is the first shot ever out of the rifle...click here, click there, bammo, dead nutters...stacked the next two right on top. (FGMM 175s)

Before anyone says I just got lucky, etc., I think this rifle really is that repeatably accurate. I am hoping to get some more shooting in tomorrow and later this week so will post some more pics soon. Mongo very happy, night gents...

For anyone who cares, went and shot 5 more rounds out of "Hammer" today (at the same target) and I don't see a need to take another picture. That ragged hole in the middle is exactly the same size. Mongo love Hammer... Thanks Keith...
