I used to have a Swarovski 4-12x50 (Habicht?) scope and it was awesome. I am going back and forth between the 2.5-15x56 and the 3-18x50 Z6 (non illuminated) scope with BRH reticle. I would really appreciate hearing reviews, likes, dislikes, etc. on these scopes. This scope will go on top of a 300 win mag and be used for whitetail deer hunting out of tower stands. Hopefully in the future it will also accompany me on a few elk hunts as well hunts to Alaska. Thanks!

I can't speak exactly about the 3-18 Z6 but I have the 3.5-18 Z5 on my LWRC REPR piston gun.
Scope holds zero and returns to zero with click movements.
Glass is, what can I say, Swarovski. Bright and clear as a bell.
Seems to be rugged but I'm shooting 308 in a near 12# gun.
BRH reticle is superb and the tiny range cards they give you are spot on. I'm more concerned with group size than perfect cold shot placement but I still like to stay on the target. Mine is zero at 200 yards and the elevation gradations in the reticle put the bullet, at 200 yards right about where my software predicts it to be given my MV is a bit lower than the range cards are based.

I can't review the Z-6's, but I do run a Z-5. And I don't want to side track the thread, but after researching I found that for a primarily hunting optic, the magnification difference between the Z-6's you listed would not be that different. I think a proper fit for you on a hunting rig with the 50 vs 56mm obj would be more important. And depending on where you want to hunt, the choice of illum vs non-illum might be the difference between legal and not legal. Just something to think about. Good luck, swaro's rock!

Tac, I had the specific Z6 you are asking about. Glass was excellent, as was FOV. Very nice scope. However, the reticle will be very difficult to see in the non-illuminated scope at dusk. If you decide to go with the Z6 I strongly suggest that you spend more money for the Z6i (illuminated reticle). I normally do not care too much for illumination. However, the reticle in the z6 2.5-15x56 is too thin in my opinion for low light hunting conditions.

You still haven't bought one? As everybody said in your last three threads about this, they are great scopes. If it were me I would go with the 50mm to mount it a touch lower since there's a good chance your hunting rifle doesn't have an adjustable cheek piece. If it does, flip a coin or go with which one you like best, hunting season is almost here.

LOL!!! Nope. They are $2500 scopes and I am spending my money buying parts (bought a Surgeon 1086 w/ Mag Bolt Face today) for another 300 win mag and a 6.5x47.

Thanks Josh!
