When I had my rifle rebarreled, my gunsmith asked what degree crown I wanted. After discussing that I would be using 175 MK he informed me I wanted 11 degrees. I told him I was also installing a JP brake and needed the tube threaded. My question is this: Does the brake affect accuracy other than felt recoil, and faster follow up shots? I don't see benchrest guys using them (but I'm not sure they are allowed to). I have 150 or so rounds through it and removed the brake to clean and noticed stelagtites of carbon buildup on the crown so whats the difference in the degree if it's gonna just get covered up anyway? Is my potential for greater accuracy better with the brake removed? I like shooting with it and it does well but maybe it can do better? I also know my zero will change with it left off but am willing to re-zero if it may have the potential to shoot better groups. (I'm also willing to deal with the increased recoil)
