Rifle Scopes Unknown Schmidt and Bender scope marking

Gents, anyone out there know what this marking indicates on this older S&B 4-16x42 scope? Could it be an inventory control marking like on the USMC M8541 scopes?

Thats a QR label, use a QR scanner app on your phone and it will tell you what it is for, my wild ass guess is it will be for the reticle mfgr in the scope possibly.
