I have a Remington 700 .308 with a Bell & Carlson stock. I'm thinking of installing the Pacific Tool and Gauge DBM. I've read good things about that. Has anyone seen or used the AI-compatible magsfrom Alpha Industries ? They look good on thier web site. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Personally, I stick with AI-brand magazines for the most part. I used to own four Alpha Mags and they were great in that they held 10 rounds in a package that was shorter than an AI mag, it was less expensive, and it was American made. However I had significant issues with two of them to the point I didn't trust them, period and those advantages started to mean very little to me. I had numerous failures to feed with them that no amount of feed lip tweeking would fix and the service from Alpha Mag at the time put a sour taste in my mouth. I've owned six AI mags and with every one of them it was as simple as plug and play, there didn't have to be a tweeking of the feed lips, no feeding issues, just load it up and cycle the action. I still use two Alpha mags that have been proven reliable but I'll only buy AI mags from here on out just for peace of mind, even if they do cost a bit more. Just my $.02.

well, I have a rem on a B&C M40 stock with PTG bottom metal. I just ordered an Alpha mag. Will let you know the lead time and function/issues once I get it.

I have a B&C with PTG DBM and I have one Alpha mag and it has worked flawlessly. I was going to order another one, but I got a good deal on two AICS mags.

The only place I have found AICS 10 round mags available is euro optics for 84.53 before shipping and Alpha is 73.00 shipped.

PTG metal is excellent.
Alpha mags works for some and not so well for others.

For the cost difference ( not a huge one) use AI mags.
