range report
Daniel Defense AR15 with 16" government 1 in 7 barrel and a geissele two stage trigger

I seem to be on a better path with my reloading lately.

H322 22.9 Grains
SMK 52 grain HPBT
Once fired lake city brass. In my book brass is brass up until I get more precise/consistent with my loading procedures.
2.240 COAL

Range rules 1 shot a second 20 rounds out of a 20 round mag.
this is off a stack of sandbags and one round a second per the range rules. It is also after I heated up the barrel with some factory ammo.

I am still piecing together bits and bobs for a consistent recipe but this hase been my most accurate to date.

I have also had good luck with IMR 4198 but that is a pain and does not meter well.

I am sure the gun is more capable.

I have some H335 and some 77grain SMK HPBTs that I might try out.

I really need to break down and buy a chronograph to get more scientifical other than random trips to the range. I am really holding off on using the 77grain SMKs until I find a chronograph. I will stick to 55 grain Hornady soft points until that point.

What are the thoughts from the group?

H322 is excellent for accuracy in the 223 AR platform. My best groupings with heavier bullets I do is with Varget. H335 is excellent as well but I find the 322 and Varget to be better in my rifles. I use 335 for M855 duplication practice rounds, which does provide excellent results.

I've begun to try AR Comp & like it other than I can't get it to meter consistent through my powder thrower. So I just started scoop & trickle method.

Does h332 meter well? What about the h335? I am wanting to load up some rounds for my AR in mass quantity, but don't want to sit through hours using varget.

Thank you George. My mistake, it has been a while since I've used the 322 and I didn't remember it as being extruded. A very small extruded. 335 is spherical though. 322 does meter well though.

H335,
23.5 grains,
RCBS Chargemaster
LC brass,
CCI primers,
69smk (62 green tips also worked well)
2.260 COAL,
1:7 twist, 16" barrel,
AAC SDN-6 suppressor.

Great load. I shoot the 69smk out to 500 yards with about a 5" grouping and I don't even care about accuracy. I just want to see how far I can shoot it.
