Heroes like this... motivate me. But rather than post in the motivational thread, I thought this hero deserved his own thread.

Only a few MoH recipients left from WW2. Within just a few years, they will all have left us.

Soldiers like MSgt Nicholas Oresko, are a credit to a grateful nation and an inspiration to everyone who ever donned a uniform for country or community. Sgt., noone will notice your passing on the major news networks... your passing will not make the New York Times or the Washington Post. But here on SH, I believe that people will take a moment and remember that you did something we all aspire to. You put the lives of others before yourself and you earned all the respect and admiration that your nation and its good citizens can bestow upon you.

In greatest respect and with condolences to your friends and family....

"The Bergen Record reported that several veterans and young members of various branches of the military stayed with Oresko in his final days after a friend wrote about his health problems on a Facebook page and noted that Oresko had no immediate family still living."

The article is bullshit, He fell down breaking his femur storming the chow hall. What a stud. I whish I had 1/2 the courage of his smallest turd. Rest in peace warrior.
