New to the sniper field i need help

Do they make them in a Stealth model? With the special paint that makes everything invisible night vision devices?

Then check out that gunsmith in SoCal who makes a special sniper stock from left over B2 parts, he can also give the same treatment to your sniper barreled action. Not only you cannot see the rifle but you can't even hear the bullet coming, 100% stealth. He made 1 prototype but he cannot find it anymore, as I say, 100% stealth.

Get a picatinny rail for the mounting base, with 20 or 40 MOA of elevation adjustment. This will let you shoot out to (or beyond) 750 yds., which is plenty for hunting and most long-range shooting. Your stock will probably need a bedding job, which runs about $150. There are lots of good rings, among them NightForce light weight rings. I like a horizontal split ring, with minimum 4 screws per ring. Also try to find the kind that uses a screw on the side to tighten them onto the mounting rail, since they are much easier to take off and mount on another rifle. You didn't mention scopes, but for general purpose shooting a Bushnell 3200 6-24x40, with a one inch scope body diameter will do fine (the rings also need to be 1" obviously). Bushnell scopes are great for reliability, anti-fogging, and anti-glare. Scope would run about $350; I'm guessing on that, since I haven't bought one in awhile. Diamond lapping the barrel may or may not be needed, and then all you have to do is work up your loads, or buy Federal Gold Medal Match 168 or 175 grain bullets. I recently saw a shooter do quite well at 600 yds. in an F/TR match with GMM 175s with a box stock Rem 700. I am assuming this is a .308 Win chambering. Enjoy!

just curious, has anyone mixed sniper rings/bases with counter sniper rings /bases, .......can you?

I would think not

:)

Isn't counter sniper rifle just a normal sniper rifle that you hold backward so that the muzzle faces you and then you push the trigger forward.

I've heard is it almost impossible to miss the sniper when you use it right.

Is this the same guy that makes the fluted bullets?

Nice to hear that you are new to the sniper field. Personally I considered accounting, education, military and finance before I landed in healthcare. What did your guidance counselor say when you told them your major was going to be sniping?

I can tell a declassified secret now that I'm not with the company any more:

back in the day , we used to just throw the bullets. All the best fundamentals are learned from that

:)

oh...and by company , I mean I used to work on the set for "threes company" tv show not the cia

Nothing to do with this thread, as this is either a big joke on everyone here, or this person is just not worth the time. I just want to say, thanks a lot for the big laugh Paul!!! This guy in this movie was funny as shit. Big dumb dumb was the big winner at the end.
