I picked up Dustin C's Crescent Customs .300WM this week as well as some 208 AMAX and winnie brass. He gave his load data and it consists of H1000, of which I have none of and everyone else seems to be out of. I do have Retumbo, H4350, and H4831 what should I go with and where to start? It has a 22" barrel if that matters.

I too use H1000 behind 210smks. However, if I didn't have H1000, I think my first alternate powder would be H4831sc with Retumbo a close 2nd. Check your manual for the starting loads.

Don't turn your nose up at Reloader 22 as well. I use it and H1000 with my winmag shooting 208 Amax and 190g SMKs. My rifle likes 70.9g of RE22 with the 190g SMK.

Pm me if you need any load data or advice

I have been working on my loads with help. All brass is Federal GMM once fired. I am using 190 SMK 34 inch barrel. 1. RETUMBO using a .334 neck sizing die 82.2 grains 10 round avg speed 3071 fps 2. RETUMBO using a .336 neck sizing die 82.2 grains 10 round avg speed 3073 fps. For my 3rd I only loaded 6 rounds with H1000 using a.336 neck sizing die 78.0 grains the avg was 2934 fps. I am new to reloading so any feed back would be great. My avg speed for Federal GMM 109SMK was 3145 fps. I am using a Magneto Speed.

What distances are you shooting?? Plus , with those speeds your barrel is gonna go quick

Not to worried about the barrel I am shooting the AI PSR and from AI said in testing should get around 6000 to 7000 without issues. All my 90% of my test shots were at 510 yard the rest out to a max of 1050 yard. I do plan on some long range shooting to 1500 or so. I had great places to shot where I live 3000 meters plus.

I did some load work with the PSR. On the .300 barrel, it seemed to shoot the 190 smk the best out of all loads. The factory 190's out shot most of my loads. The only thing that I could get to shoot fuckin a solid was a 210 vld.
With Norma brass

The Federal load do shot very good group. I did go out shooting today and have settled on 82.2 grains of Retumbo with a .334 neck sizing die. All brass has been annealed. I am getting and AVG of 3071.45 fps a max deviation if 9 fps in 24 loads I shot. This is slower then Federal GNN but I can count on the consistency. I shot out to 1998 yards but was only able to see 1 (6 fired)hit the call was 3 mils low not bad at that range. In 1468 data was good just some wind push. At 500 yards dead on 5 hits with a group of about 3/4 moa or better.

what process are they doing to get that kind of life out of a 300 wm ?

Ramshot Magnum powder is available at Midway. I did a lot of reading and its supposed to be just as good as H1000

It's a good bit different. Rimshot is a ball powder and VERY temp sensitive. It's also slower burning than H1000, which is a stick powder
