New 6.5 cartridge?

Glad I have my 50 BMG ;)

Most people I know with a 50BMG rarely shoot them. Oh it gets shot once in a while but no one shoots one as much as the average guy with a GAP in 260 will.....

KYS , Ditto , who said anything about going 4000 rounds ? Your quoting Berger , maybe you've heard about Brian Litz ? Look at his figures for 140g 6.5's & 180g 7's & do the maths yourself or get someone to help you !

8,914 posts , maybe you should spend a little more time reading up on ballistics or having it read to you rather than posting so much utter rubbish !

You do know the earth's not flat ?

Man, they will let anyone comment on this forum now a days. So tell us what Brian Litz says about a Pointed 140gr Berger Hybrid doing 3150 fps....... oh wait you can't because you have never shot the caliber. You are guessing blindly on the subject. Where as I own and regularly shoot these calibers every day! :p Give me that G1 BC of the same pointed hybrid if you can while you are at it, since I clearly don't know. I have only shot several thousand.

I guess they dont teach reading comprehension across the pond. That is FACTUAL data from a PRS top ranked shooter. He won a very difficult course of fire with a rifle that had over 3500 rounds on it. Brian Litz can't take into affect every single caliber and wildcat that comes across the work bench with his bullet. Give me a break!

Go read the thread that has been posted and your eyes will be opened, if you can follow along. As I said, my offer stands if you would like to go shot for shot with your 7mm and this 6.5 SAUM. I promise your flight home will be a sore one.

I've lost the will to post anymore as they do say you can't educate pork and you do remind me of that ! I have to say that anyone who has 8,915 posts since 2008 , over five posts a day every day for five years is one hell of a sad mother who i feel sorry for :(

Did you read the 6.5 SAUM thread yet? There is a ton of good info in that thread that would help you understand where these guys are coming from. It's why they have begged you to read it on multiple occasions. For one thing you would learn that there was a specific purpose for this build as an ultimate hunting rig within their defined parameters. And the 7's won't beat the 6.5 for their intended purpose and set of parameters. I realize everyone here is an expert and can't learn a thing from anyone else but I personally found a lot of good info from a guy (George) that shoots way more than I do in competition and builds way more rifles than I do as well, 1700 a year I believe. I think we may all be able to glean some info from his willingness to share his experiences. Just a thought.

Teal - I was joking on the comment about 'Size' - a 260 is one of my fave, built a 6.5-308 before it was on the scene

Yet again, you prove your lack of intelligence and continue to march blindly down the path of ignorance. The information is at hand, yet you choose to pass it by. I guess the old saying "ignorance is bliss" rings true for you.
My post count and forum activity have nothing to do with my shooting experience. This place is here to teach, not play like you know everything. Which clearly you do not or else you would have educated yourself on the matter. You losing your will to post here is an admittance that you're running out of things to say that pertain to the technology we are discussing.

7mm projectiles have been around forever. The 6.5 is seeing a new surge in life. There is a reason gun builders and ammo makers are backing it over the 7mm. As a matter of fact a major bullet producer put a halt on most of its 7mm production as well as some others to catch up with the 6.5 caliber demand.

Did you learn something? I hope so....
