Anyone Willing to Loan a Leica Range Finder until Mid-November?

I have the hunting trip of a lifetime coming up November 1st-16th (I won it...1 week bow hunting in Buffalo County, Wisconsin followed by 1 week of rifle hunting in Dryden, Ontario) and I don't have a rangefinder. In Dryden, shots to 800 yards are possible (anytime I have shot at distance has been on targets of know distance). I would really like to be fully prepared for this trip (rangefinder wise) but my budget is tapped and my wife won't allow me to buy a rangefinder.

If necessary, I am willing to offer up collateral in the form of my acog TA01, aimpoint micro, or some other similar-value item (discussed ahead of time) depending on what is offered. I am specifically interested in borrowing a Leica LRF/CRF 1000, 1200 or 1600. I realize this isn't a very common request but the hide has treated me well and I figure it couldn't hurt to ask. Please feel free to PM me or to reply to this thread.

Thanks,

Adam

Another member on here has treated me VERY kindly over the last couple of years. This guy opens up his place to us when we went Antelope hunting in Gillette, WY. I think I need to pass it forward. I have a Leica 1600 I can loan to you.

SHIT... that is STAND UP right there! Awesom way to help out!

If I would have had one... I would have let you use it.

If it falls through I have a 1200 I won't be using, my elk trip got, cancelled due to work conflicts today.

Hawk,

I'm sorry to hear your trip got cancelled. Thank you for the offer. I will let you know if I need to take you up on that. Thank you fellow hiders for the continued generosity. This is a great place...

PM sent. I didn't get to go on my antelope hunt this year and I have no use for it here in Minnesota, all my shots are usually under 150 yards. Good luck on your hunt Infiniti, what species are you going for, if you dont mind me asking.

win, replied to your PM, also just sent you an email. Sorry to hear you didn't get to go on your antelope hunt. I grew up hunting deer in northern Wisconsin. Where in Minnesota do you hunt?

I don't mind you asking one bit... both trips are for whitetail. Are you entering the biggest rack contest here on the hide in the hunting section?

I hunt just West of Bemidji. No I will be entering any big buck contests this year, my hunting is going to be pretty much me going out with my 11 year old daughter. She is really excited to go hunting, so I am going to let her do the shooting.

Room for a new sub forum here on the Hide. "Can I borrow xxxxx?" As a good way to pay things forward.

After reading the OP's post, I was seriously considering offering up my CRF12, but I didnt even have to. Maybe we can start something here...

win.308stealth, good hunting in Bemidji! Even if you pass on the big buck contest, make sure you enter your daughter and yourself in the drawing for a guided/semi-guided youth hunt next year in Buffalo County, WI (I am just finalizing the details before posting the thread. My buddy who donated the hunt is in hardcore hunt mode, so I haven't spoken to him for a few days). The winner and one parent will have the hunt and lodging taken care of and will only need to take care of transportation, food, and tags (again details still TBD).

coldboremiracle, I think that is a great idea and thank you for your consideration. Where do you think would be the best place to have that thread? I wasn't really sure where to post this one.

Trip update:

This was in Buffalo County, Wisconsin...taken at 18 yards with my bow. Earlier in this same trip, I passed on a smaller buck that I would have incorrectly ranged by 10 yards (was at 56, not 45 or so like I'd guessed). Thanks win.308 for helping make this happen. This is my biggest buck to date. Doing it with a bow makes it that much better. Thanks again for the generosity brother!
